Disaster simulation exercise earns Team CF recognition from agency partners

On Monday, August 16, Crystal Flash was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation from the Michigan National Guard and the Kent County Sheriff’s Office.

Earlier this year, a mock disaster exercise (dubbed “Northern Exposure/Rising Waters”) took place in Kent County. Participating agencies included several police and fire departments, the Kent County Sheriff’s Emergency Management Office and the Michigan National Guard.

As the emergency fuel contractor for Kent County, Crystal Flash was selected to set up a “mobile gas station” by utilizing a tank wagon with gasoline and diesel fuel. CF successfully fueled a fire truck and police car, proving that the on-site fueling procedure worked as expected.

Accepting the recognition on behalf of the 270+ employee owners of Crystal Flash were John Wozniak and Jim Tefft. Separately, John also received an individual plaque for his role in the planning and execution of the exercise. Shown in the photo with John/Jim is Matt Groesser, Emergency Management Coordinator, Kent County Sherriff’s Office.
