The "Americal Idol" style competition is presented by Silent Observer, local law enforcement, and local business to spread an anti-violence message amoung young people.

Chris Cameron, Executive Director of Silent Observer stated, "Silent Observer launched this project knowing that there was no better way to get an anti-violence message across to young people then to provide young people the opportunity to share that important message with their peers. We are so appreciative of your $500 donation to make this happen. We could not have done this without you." He went on to say, "We are appreciative of [all the contestants] willingness to speak out against crime and our hope is that these top 10 finalists will influence a positive change of ideas among the youth in our community."
