Rebates for Oil and Propane Furnaces

In a move to help stimulate the rebate program for Oil heat and Propane Furnaces, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has approved a $200 rebate increase for Oil Furnaces, Propane Furnaces and Propane Hot Water Heaters in Michigan.
The increase takes the rebates to $500 for Oil Furnaces, $500 for Propane Furnaces and $300 for Propane Hot Water Heaters, effective June 1, 2010. All the appliances need to be Energy Star rated. As part of the Federal Recovery Act, Michigan was also awarded money that is being used to offer consumer rebates for Washers, Dishwashers, Refrigerators that complement utility programs already being offered. Only Michigan residents are eligible to participate in the appliance rebate programs, and all appliances are required to be replaced. Customers can go online or call a toll-free telephone number to reserve a rebate (see below). The program will run through the end of 2010 or when the money runs out.
